One of the most powerful takeaways? In Scotland, land is respected, not restricted. While land may be "owned," it remains open to the public. You’re free to explore as long as you respect the trees, water, and wildlife—no trespassing signs, no fear of being unwelcome.

It raises a bigger question: Who really owns the land? In the U.S., access often comes with barriers. In Scotland, the land is a shared gift, and that mindset was both grounding and freeing to experience.
